Latest Update: 7-6-2026

Find & Replace in Table View

  1. Open your project and navigate to the Table view. Select the activities you want to find and replace.

  2. Select the find and replace feature on the toolbar on the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the Find field, type the text you want to search for.

  4. In the Replace field, type the replacement text.

Find & Replace in Canvas View

  1. Navigate to the Canvas view.

  2. Multi-select a list of activities and then right click for the context menu and select Find & Replace.

  3. Repeat steps 3-4 above.

💡 Tips

  • Find & Replace is case-insensitive by default, so searching for "concrete" will also match "Concrete."

  • Use Ctrl + Z (Windows) or Cmd + Z (Mac) to undo a Replace All if you need to revert your changes.

  • For other ways to edit multiple rows at once, check out Bulk Data Entry by Selecting Rows.

❓ FAQ

Does Find & Replace work across all activity fields, or just the activity name?

It searches and replaces text in activity names only. It won't affect durations, codes, dates, or other fields.

Can I use Find & Replace on the whole project at once, or do I have to select activities first?

In Table view, you need to select the activities you want to apply it to before triggering Find & Replace. In Canvas view, multi-select your activities first, then right-click to access the feature. There's no global "replace all across the entire project" option - selection is required.

What happens if no match is found?

If Planera doesn't find any matching text in your selected activities, nothing changes. You'll see no results returned in the Find field.

Is Find & Replace case-sensitive?

No. It's case-insensitive by default, so searching for "concrete" will match "Concrete," "CONCRETE," and any other capitalization.

Can I undo a replacement if I make a mistake?

Yes. Use Ctrl + Z on Windows or Cmd + Z on Mac immediately after replacing to undo the change.

Does Find & Replace work in other views like Gantt?

No, it's available in Table view and Canvas view only. The Gantt view doesn't support Find & Replace directly.
