Add Context to Manny

Attach an image to a Manny chat to use as reference, such as recreating activities from a screenshot.

Latest Update: 6-9-2026

You can add context to your chat to give Manny a better idea of what you are trying to do. Drill into groups, activities or upload images to have Manny make changes based on markups.

Adding Schedule Elements as Context

Inside the Manny chat input, there is an icon in the bottom left of the dialogue box. Selecting it lets you pick any activity, task, group, or milestone from the canvas view and attach it directly to your question, no need to type out names manually.

This is especially useful for targeted questions, like asking Manny to explain the risk to a specific milestone or compare two activities.

Accessing Manny from the Activity Context Menu

You can open Manny directly from any activity, task, milestone, or group in the Canvas, Table, or Gantt views. Right-click any element to open the context menu and select "Ask Manny about this Element." This opens the Manny panel with that element already loaded as context, along with suggested prompts specific to it.

Attach an Image

There are many uses; a common one is attaching a screenshot of another schedule and asking Manny to recreate those activities in your schedule.

  • Attach an image in a new chat or an existing one.

  • Upload from a folder on your computer, or drag and drop the image into the chat.

  • Manny uses the image as context for your request.

  • Supported file types: .jpg & .png

  1. Select the image icon at the bottom of the chat input, then choose an image from a folder on your computer. You can also drag and drop an image directly into the chat.

  2. Confirm the image appears as context in the chat.

Create Activities from a Screenshot

  1. With the image attached, tell Manny what to do, for example "Create these activities and their relationships in this schedule."

  2. Review Manny's summary of planned changes, including activity names, IDs, durations, and predecessors.

  3. Select Apply Changes. The activities appear on the canvas, replicating the source image.

Update Constraints From a Screenshot

  1. With the image attached, tell Manny what to do, for example "Update the start on constraint for these activities. Activities in blue should push out 2 weeks, activities in red should push out 3 weeks "

  2. Review Manny's summary of planned changes, including activity names, IDs, current constraint date and new constraint date.

  3. Select Apply Changes. The activities appear on the canvas, replicating the source image.
