How do we calculate the DCMA score?
DCMA tests are like separate exams, and it's tricky to measure how good a schedule is by looking at 14 different tests. That's why we use a special formula to figure out an overall project score, it makes it easier to talk about.
At the beginning, the project score is always 100. But as we find issues with DCMA rules, we subtract some points, and the score goes down from there.
How do we calculate the DCMA letter grade?
We use the DCMA table to figure out letter grades. This table shows percentages and grades, making it easy to understand. It helps us see how good the project is and where we need to improve.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is my quality score calculated?
The score starts at 100. Points are deducted as issues are found against the 14 DCMA rules. The more issues in your schedule, the lower the score.
Why does the score start at 100 instead of adding up from zero?
Planera uses a deduction model because it is easier to understand how much you are losing than to sum up 14 separate test results. A score of 100 means no issues were found.
How does the letter grade get assigned?
Letter grades use the official DCMA grade table, which maps score ranges to letter grades. The table is the industry-standard DCMA scale, not a Planera-specific one.
Does every DCMA parameter carry the same weight toward my score?
No. Org admins and authorized schedulers can adjust each parameter's impact weight in the custom quality score settings, so some parameters can affect the overall score more than others.
