The connector between the activities and the groups can be shaped as required to make the canvas pretty and tell your schedule story.
Each connector has 5 movable points, and each point can be grabbed and moved as required:
2 points on activities or groups
3 points on the connector itself
Select the connector
Grab the point that you like and move it as desired
Note: As you move a connector or activity around, it may get hidden by the canvas auto-cleanup feature of the canvas if there is not clear path from start to finish.
