Latest Update 4-13-2026
You can click on any activity, task, or milestone in Canvas or Gantt to instantly see which connected relationships are driving, and which are both driving and critical. This makes it easier to quickly understand schedule impact.
View Driving & Critical Relationships 3 Ways
Canvas (Option 1)
In Canvas view, click on any activity, task, or milestone
Review the highlighted relationships connected to the selected item:
Driving relationships will be visually identified
Relationships that are both driving and critical will also be indicated
Non-driving relationships will remain unhighlighted
Canvas (Option 2)
In Canvas, right-click any activity and select Inspect Path - Canvas
Review the connections to the activity you are inspecting using the toolbar at the top:
Toggle between:
All - Show driving and non-driving connected activities
Driving Only - Show only connected activities on the driving path
Backward - Show only connected predecessors
Both - Show connected predecessors & successors
Forward - Show only connected successors
Gantt
In Gantt, right-click any activity and select Inspect Path - Gantt
Review the connections to the activity you are inspecting using the toolbar at the top:
Toggle between:
All - Show driving and non-driving connected activities
Driving Only - Show only connected activities on the driving path
Backward - Show only connected predecessors
Both - Show connected predecessors & successors
Forward - Show only connected successors
Show WBS - Toggle the WBS (Group) structure and show only activities
What This Means
Driving relationships directly impact the successor’s start or finish date
Driving + critical relationships both drive the successor and fall along the project’s critical path
This interaction allows you to quickly assess schedule risk and impact without leaving Canvas or Gantt
