Assigning Calendars for a Project or Activity

Change the working and non-working days for your project or specific activities using calendars.

Latest Update: 4-13-2026

In Planera, working days are controlled by calendars. Calendars can be applied at two levels:

  • Project Default Calendar β€” used by all activities that do not have a specific calendar assigned

  • Activity-level Calendar β€” overrides the project default for specific activities

Project Default Calendar: Change the working days for the entire project

Use this option if most or all activities should follow a different work schedule.

For example, if you want to change the entire schedule from a 5-day workweek to a 6-day workweek:

  1. Open the More menu

  2. Select Project Settings

  3. Under the Default Calendar section, choose a calendar that includes your desired working days (e.g., a 6-day calendar)

  4. Save your changes.

What this does:

  • Updates all activities currently using the Project Default Calendar

  • Does not affect activities that already have a specific calendar applied

Activity-Level Calendar: Change the working days for specific activities

Use this option if only certain activities should follow a different work schedule.

For example, concrete curing activities should be on a 7-day calendar:

  1. Navigate to Table View and select the Build tab (recommended for bulk updates)

  2. Locate the Calendars column

  3. Select one or more activities

  4. Click the calendar cell and choose the appropriate calendar (e.g., 6-day calendar).

Note: You can also change calendars on individual activities from other views, but Table View is the fastest way to bulk-select
