Linked Master Schedule and Field Schedules

View Field Schedule details at a glance from within your Master Schedule project dropdown without having to navigate away.

Latest Update: 5-7-2026

When working with a Master Schedule (MS) that contains multiple Field Schedule (FS) versions, you can now see key information about each associated Field Schedule directly in the info dropdown. This helps you quickly identify which Field Schedule version you need and verify its status before selecting it.

  • The information dropdown displays version tags (such as "Current"), version names, and date ranges

  • No changes to how you create or manage Field Schedules; this is a visibility improvement only

  • Helps prevent confusion when switching between multiple FS versions

Viewing Field Schedule Information

  1. Open your Master Schedule project and click the info dropdown to the right of your schedule name to view associated Field Schedules

  1. Each Field Schedule entry displays:

    • Version tags (e.g., "Current") that indicate the status of that version

    • Version name so you can identify which FS you need

    • Date range showing the start and end dates for that FS version

    • Edited showing the last time the FS was edited

  2. You can open the connected Field Schedule version in a new tab by hovering over the expanded drop down

Understanding the Information Displayed

The dropdown shows all Field Schedules linked to your Master Schedule. Each entry includes:

  • Version labels: Helps you quickly spot important versions (for example, a "Current" tag indicates the active version you should typically use)

  • Version name: The name you gave this Field Schedule version when you created it

  • Date range: The start and end dates for the tasks and timeline in that Field Schedule version

  • Edited showing the last time the FS was edited

This makes it easier to find the right version without opening each one individually.

FAQ

What is the difference between a Master Schedule and a Field Schedule?

A Master Schedule contains the overall project timeline and can link multiple Field Schedule versions. Each Field Schedule represents a specific version of the work breakdown down to the task level for execution in the field. The Master Schedule gives you an overview; Field Schedules provide detailed execution timelines.

Why do I see multiple Field Schedules in the dropdown?

Your Master Schedule can be linked to multiple Field Schedule versions to compare options, track revisions, or maintain historical records. Each version has its own timeline and details.

What do the version tags mean?

Tags like "Current" indicate the status of that Field Schedule version. A "Current" tag typically means that version is the active one you should use for field execution and is the version that opens for all team members. Other tags may indicate Baseline and Read-only versions.

Can I switch between Field Schedules from the dropdown?

Yes. Click on any Field Schedule entry in the dropdown to view and work with that version in the Master Schedule context.

Do changes to the Field Schedule information dropdown affect my existing Field Schedules?

No. This is purely a visibility feature. Your existing Field Schedules and all their data remain unchanged; you are just seeing more information about them upfront.
