Resolving a Stale MS Warning During FS Creation
If the linked Master Schedule is stale, a warning will appear.
Review the warning details. You will be given the option to open the MS in a new window to run it before continuing.
Once the MS is up to date, return to FS creation. Your prior inputs will be preserved and you can continue without starting over.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean when a Master Schedule is stale?
A Master Schedule is considered stale when it has not been ran to reflect recent changes in project scope or logic. Using a stale Master Schedule to create a Field Schedule can result in missing or incorrect float path data, which affects scheduling accuracy.
Will I lose my FS creation progress if I resolve the Master Schedule?
No. Planera saves all of your FS creation inputs automatically. When you return to FS creation after resolving the Master Schedule, your prior work will be preserved and you can pick up exactly where you left off.
How long does it take to resolve a stale Master Schedule?
The time required depends on the complexity and size of your Master Schedule. Planera will handle the resolution in the background, but you may need to wait a few moments before continuing with FS creation.
Can I skip the stale MS warning and create the FS anyway?
Yes. If you choose not to resolve a stale Master Schedule before proceeding with Field Schedule creation, your Field Schedule could have accurate float path data and may not include the latest changes made in the Master Schedule.
What happens if I don't have permission to update the Master Schedule?
If you encounter a permissions issue while trying to resolve the Master Schedule, contact your project administrator.
