Bring in a baseline or an earlier version of a schedule from an external system to an ongoing Planera project. The supported systems are P6 (XML &amp; XER files) and Microsoft Project (MS XML files). This previous version will maintain the WBS order from the imported file.

Notes: This feature is only available for projects originally imported into Planera and does not apply to projects created directly within Planera. Only previous and baseline versions can be imported, updated schedule versions cannot be imported to an existing project.

How to Import a Previous or Baseline Version

Navigate to the Versions of a project that has been imported into Planera. ​

Click on 'Import Baseline Version' to import a baseline or 'Import Previous Version' to import a previous version ​

1. If the original schedule was P6, you may upload P6 XML or P6 XER file (shown in screenshot below)
2. If the original schedule is Microsoft Project, you may upload MS XML (not pictured) ​

If no issues are found, the imported version will appear with an 'Imported' tag ​

1. Navigate to the Versions of a project that has been imported into Planera. ​

3. Upload a the relevant file
 1. If the original schedule was P6, you may upload P6 XML or P6 XER file (shown in screenshot below)
 2. If the original schedule is Microsoft Project, you may upload MS XML (not pictured) ​

4. If no issues are found, the imported version will appear with an 'Imported' tag ​

Can I import a baseline into a project I built directly in Planera? No. This feature only works for projects that were originally imported into Planera from P6 or MS Project. It does not apply to projects created from scratch within Planera.

Can I import an updated schedule version into an existing project? No. Only previous and baseline versions can be imported this way. Updated schedule versions are not supported for import into an existing project.

What file types can I upload? If the original schedule came from P6, you can upload a P6 XML or P6 XER file. If it came from Microsoft Project, you can upload an MS XML file.

How do I know the import worked? If no issues are found, the imported version appears in your Versions list with an "Imported" tag.

Does the imported version keep its original WBS order? Yes. The previous or baseline version maintains the WBS order from the file you imported.
