Copying Activities and Groups

How to Copy an activity or a group

You can copy and paste one or more activities or groups (or a mix of them) within the same project or to a different project.

Step 1: Select activities and/or groups:

  1. Click on one activity or group (each called an element)

  2. Select multiple elements by

    1. Pressing Ctrl + drawing a box around them with the left mouse click

    2. Press Ctrl + Click more elements

Step 2: Copy the elements:

  1. You can copy these selected elements by pressing Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac)

  2. Alternatively, you can right click and use the context menu popup to select Copy

Step 3: Paste the elements:

  1. You can now navigate to any other portion of the project or open a new project.

  2. Press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac) to paste these elements

  3. You can also right-click on an empty spot in the Canvas and click on Paste Elements


What properties get copied?

  • Activity and Group names

  • Duration and Calendar

  • Relationships with lags of all elements inside the selection box

  • Labor and Equipment

  • Custom codes (within the same project)


PRO TIP:

  • You can create a project called "Recipes" and create a number of small networks that you repeatedly use across your company. Then you can quickly copy from that "Recipes" project and paste it into other projects.
