How to Compare Schedule Versions

Compare versions of a project in the Gantt and Table views

You can compare any two versions of the schedules in Gantt and three versions in Table. Learn how to create multiple versions of the schedule here.

Compare 2 Versions In Gantt

  1. In Gantt, click on the More menu and select Compare versions.

  2. From the dialog box dropdown, select the baseline version or click "Other Versions" to see all versions to compare to any available version of your schedule.

  3. The Gantt chart will display the activity bars of the selected version (in grey) underneath the current version activity bars (in color), quickly allowing you to visually compare the timeline of two schedules.


  4. To stop comparing schedules, click on the Stop Comparison button.

Compare Versions in Table

Bring in columns to compare up to 2 other versions in Table and see how dates, durations and float have changed over time.

  1. In the Table, navigate to the +/- Variance tab ad click the +Add Fields and select Existing Code

    Note: If you have not added columns to the +/- Variance tab, you can add existing codes using the Add Fields button to the right of your table.

  2. From the Column selection menu, navigate to the Variance section

  3. Toggle on the columns you want to see

How to Change the Version Columns in Table

You can change the versions you are comparing two ways:

  1. When adding in variance columns, hover over a version name and click the blue Change button from the slide out menu and choose the version you want

    Note: Use the choose a different version option to choose any version from the versions canvas.

  2. To change the version of columns you have already added, hover over the column header for the version you want to change and click the 3 dot menu. Then select Change comparison version
