How to Add Variance Reason Codes to Your Organization

Variance Reason Codes help categorize and track the causes of schedule deviations. Assigning these codes enables better analysis of delays and helps improve project reporting and decision-making.

How to add Variance Reason Codes to an organization

  1. Click "Variance Reasons" under "Users and Library" on the homepage


  2. Click “+ Add Option.” on the bottom left


  3. Enter a code (up to 3-digit number) and a reason name (up to 60 characters, including numbers and alphabets).


  4. Assign a color (default is dark blue)


How to archive Variance Reason Codes

Hover on a code, click the icon to the right of the table to archive


Once archived the code will still be applied to existing projects. It will no longer show up in list of codes for new projects.

Unarchive -

  1. Click the "Archived Codes" button at the bottom right to view archived codes.


  2. Hover on the code you want to unarchive and click the icon to the right of the table

Manage Permissions for Variance Codes: Create, Edit, Duplicate and Archive

  1. Go to "Organization Settings" via the profile menu in the top-right corner of the Home Page.


  2. Navigate to the "Permissions" tab, assign a role for Variance Reason, and save changes.
